BUILDINX 2025 consolidates its role as a business platform for logistics and industrial real estate

Second edition in Dortmund impresses with higher visitor attendance, high satisfaction and forward-looking topics

Dortmund, 21.11.2025 – For three days, Dortmund was once again the meeting place for the logistics and industrial real estate sector: From November 18 to 20, 2025, BUILDINX – INNOVATIONS FOR LOGISTICS PROPERTIES – brought together providers of solution components and key stakeholders from industry, trade, logistics and investment at Messe Dortmund. After the successful premiere in 2024, the format has clearly positioned itself in the trade fair calendar in its second edition and fulfilled the expectations set in advance. With a broad range of exhibitors and another very knowledgeable audience, BUILDINX confirmed its role as a business platform along the entire value chain of innovative logistics and industrial real estate.

“With the second BUILDINX, we have taken the next strategic step. The combination of a highly specialized conference program, strong market leaders, innovative newcomers and a highly qualified trade audience shows that we are hitting the nerve of the industry with this format. BUILDINX fits seamlessly into Messe Dortmund’s own format strategy and makes the location a central point of contact for the dynamic world of logistics and industrial real estate,” summarizes Sabine Loos, Managing Director of the Westfalenhallen Group.

Relevant topics, strong partners, intensive expert discussions

BUILDINX 2025 was once again dominated by current key topics in the world of industrial and logistics real estate. The conference program designed by the BUILDINX focus group in the logistics real estate section of the German Logistics Association (BVL) highlighted how geopolitical developments, changing supply chains and increasing demands for resilience, sustainability and energy efficiency are restructuring the demand for space. “We have succeeded in reflecting the central topics of the industry in the program. Once again this year, networking and discussions at a high level of quality characterize BUILDINX,” says Kuno Neumeier, spokesman for the BVL logistics real estate theme group and CEO of the Logivest Group.

The focus was on the growing demand in the defence sector, strategies for resilient and economically viable logistics locations, the use of data intelligence and artificial intelligence along the life cycle of real estate, the opportunities of photovoltaics and decentralized energy storage as well as the potential of revitalizing brownfields and flexible land use.

Innovations, premieres and trends take center stage for three days

On the second evening of the trade fair, the Founders Fight Night provided a special highlight: start-ups presented their business models in a pitch fight in front of the jury and audience, providing fresh impetus. In an exciting final, the start-up for urban logistics infrastructure bace prevailed with its open platform for the last mile and won this year’s Founders Fight.

The mixture of technical depth during the day and lively networking formats – including the “Get-together: Xelebrate together enlightened by EAE” – as well as innovative events in the evening was another example of how strongly innovative strength and logistics expertise come together at BUILDINX.

Satisfied exhibitors, increased visitor interest

Exhibitors were very satisfied with how BUILDINX 2025 went. In the exhibitor survey, around 94% stated that their expectations of the trade fair had been met; more than 85% confirmed on site that they would exhibit again next year. The high decision-making competence of the trade visitors and the quality of the discussions were particularly emphasized: In addition to project developers and logistics service providers, numerous representatives from industry and trade, investors, research and politics were once again present at the trade fair.

BUILDINX was able to increase the number of visitors compared to the premiere. The results of the visitor survey also show a positive development: the proportion of trade visitors who are already considering a return visit next year during the event has risen further compared to 2024. “The industry’s interest, the increase in visitors and the further rise in satisfaction are a clear signal,” says Exhibition Director Sabine Loos: “Many companies have told us that they meet exactly the right contacts at BUILDINX in a short space of time. This density of relevant contacts is a real added value in a challenging market environment and encourages us to consistently push ahead with the further development of the format.”

Outlook: BUILDINX 2026 already in preparation

After a successful second year, Messe Dortmund and its partners are already looking ahead: The next BUILDINX from November 17 to 19, 2026 is in preparation and exhibitors can already register for 2026. The trade fair thus remains an integral part of the portfolio at the Dortmund location and is gradually developing into a central hub for logistics and industrial real estate solutions in a European context.
