The BUILDINX – INNOVATIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTIES – exhibition is expanding the range on show at the 2026 fair by targeting the emerging data centre market. This sees the Dortmund Exhibition Centre targeting a market whose logistics and industrial property needs largely overlap in terms of land availability, power supplies, ESG, technical building solutions, and facility management.
Dortmund, 7 May 2026 – The Dortmund Exhibition Centre (Messe Dortmund) is unswervingly enhancing its BUILDINX 2026 offering by expanding the Data Centres section. The topic already featured in the supporting programme at previous shows, with exhibitors showcasing building solutions for power supply and fire safety. At the upcoming exhibition, this section will enjoy even greater prominence. The involvement of the eco – Association of the Internet Industry sees the BUILDINX gaining a strong partner to contribute expertise in digital infrastructure and data centres to the integrated conference programme line-up.
“Data centres are one of the major topics of future importance in our time. Demand is growing rapidly in Germany, indeed all across Europe, and with it the need for land, power, sustainability, and technical infrastructure. Embedding this sector more firmly in the BUILDINX is the next logical step, as many of the challenges are closely linked to those facing modern logistics and industrial properties,” commented Sabine Loos, Managing Director of the Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue. “In taking the eco association on board, we are strategically expanding the BUILDINX to include additional specialist expertise, making it even more relevant for companies looking at the big picture of the sustainable properties lifecycle,” she added.
BUILDINX bridges the gap between property sector and data centre industry The future will see an even sharper focus on the interfaces between property and digital infrastructure, ranging from new building and land use issues, through security of supply, resilience and ESG, to grid integration, facility services, and efficient operation. This further establishes the BUILDINX as a buyer-meets-seller forum spanning the entire value chain of innovative real estate for logistics, industry and data centres.
The German Federal Logistics Association (BVL) remains a technical partner of the trade fair and, together with the Logistics Property Working Group, plays a key role in shaping the conference and seminar programme line-up. The addition of the eco association to the forum offers a further real-life outlook on a highly dynamic infrastructure sector.
The Dortmund Exhibition Centre will be hosting the next BUILDINX from 17 to 19 November 2026. All information, updates and developments concerning the show can be found at any time on the show’s website, Instagram, LinkedIn and via newsletter.
