BUILDINX 2025 consolidates its role as a buyer-meets-seller forum for logistics and industrial properties
Follow-up show in Dortmund impresses with even higher visitor numbers, high levels of satisfaction and leading-edge subject matter
Dortmund, 24 November 2025 – For three days, Dortmund was once again the place to be for everyone in the logistics and industrial property sector as BUILDINX – INNOVATIONS FOR LOGISTICS PROPERTIES brought providers behind sophisticated solutions together with key stakeholders in production, commerce, logistics and investment at Messe Dortmund. Following its successful inaugural show last year, BUILDINX is now clearly part of the exhibition calendar and has met all expectations associated with this status. With a broad range of exhibitors and, once again, a very knowledgeable audience, BUILDINX cemented its role as a buyer-meets-seller forum covering the entire value chain in the innovative logistics and industrial property sector.
“With the second BUILDINX show, we've taken the next strategic step. The combination of a highly specialised conference programme, major market leaders, innovative newcomers and a high-grade specialist audience shows that this exhibition is hitting the right spot and serving the industry well. BUILDINX fits seamlessly into Messe Dortmund's own format strategy and makes the location a central point of contact for the dynamic world of logistics and industrial real estate,” summed up Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue.
Relevant topics, big-name partners and in-depth technical discussions
In 2025, BUILDINX was once again dominated by current key topics of interest in the world of industrial and logistics property. The conference programme designed by the BUILDINX focus group in the Logistics Property Working Group of the German Federal Logistics Association (BVL) highlighted how geopolitical developments, changing supply chains and increasing demands for resilience, sustainability and energy efficiency are restructuring the demand for space. “We've succeeded in ensuring the central themes of the industry are reflected in the programme. Once again this year, BUILDINX was characterised by high-quality networking and conversations,” said Kuno Neumeier, spokesman for the BVL Logistics Property Working Group and CEO of the Logivest Group.
The focus was on the growing demand in the defence sector, strategies for resilient and economically viable logistics locations, the use of data intelligence and artificial intelligence throughout the property life cycle, the opportunities associated with solar power and decentralised energy storage, and the potential for revitalising brownfield sites and making flexible use of land.
Innovations, débuts and trends take centre stage for three days
Founders Fight Night proved a special highlight on the second evening of the show, with start-ups presenting their business models in a battle of pitches in front of the panel of judges and the audience, providing fresh ideas and inspiration. An exciting final saw urban logistics infrastructure start-up bace emerge supreme with its open 'last mile' platform, winning this year's Founders Fight.
The mixture of in-depth expertise during the day and lively networking opportunities including the “Get-together: Xelebrate together enlightened by EAE” plus innovative evening events was another example of how well BUILDINX combines innovative power and logistics expertise.
Satisfied exhibitors and increased visitor interest
The exhibitors were very satisfied with how BUILDINX 2025 went, with around 94% per cent of exhibitors telling the exhibitor survey that their expectations of the show had been met, and with over 85% confirming at the venue that they would be exhibiting again next year. People emphasised in particular the high levels of decision-making authority among trade visitors and the quality of discussions, with attendees including project developers and logistics service providers as well as a host of people engaged in production, commerce, investment, research and political decision-making.
Compared to the inaugural show, this year's BUILDINX succeeded in drawing even more visitors. The results of the visitor survey also showed improvements, with an increase in the percentage of trade visitors already saying during the event that they are considering returning next time. “The level of interest in the industry, the increase in visitor numbers and the further rise in satisfaction are unmistakeable signals,” said chief show organiser Sabine Loos, who continued: “Many businesses have told us they meet exactly the right contacts at BUILDINX in a very short space of time. This 'contact density' represents real added value in a challenging market environment and encourages us to press ahead with evolving the show even further.”
Outlook: BUILDINX 2026 already in preparation
After a successful second year, Messe Dortmund and its partners are already looking to the future, with work continuing on the next BUILDINX which is scheduled to be held from 17 to 19 November 2026 (exhibitors are already welcome to register). And so, BUILDINX remains an integral part of the Dortmund trade show line-up, gradually developing into a central hub for logistics and industrial property solutions in a European context.
